TY - RPRT AU - Mukmin Muhammad T1 - LEGAL DEVELOPMENT AND GLOBALIZATION: LAW ENFORCEMENT AND DEMOCRACY T2 - Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Al-Gazali Barru PB - Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Al-Gazali Barru DA - 2023/2/21/ PY - 2023 AB - ABSTRACT Ideal legal development must be accompanied by awareness that law enforcement is a social sub-system, so that environmental influences are quite significant, such as the influence of political, economic, socio-cultural, security and security, science and technology, education and so on. Only the commitment to the principles of the rule of law as stated and implied in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and the principles of law applicable in the environment of civilized nations (such as “the Basic Principles of the Independence of Judiciary, 1985”) can prevent law enforcers from negative practices due to highly complex environmental influences. Globalization will be an opportunity if we are ready and able to use it well and try to overcome the dangers of national life. Conversely it will cause disaster if we are not ready with “global vision” and drift along with the negative sides. The dangerous sides to national life include: increasing interdependence among nations, the enactment of international standard standards in various fields of life, a tendency to weaken ethnocentric ties and national ties, domination of foreign capital and an increasingly private role strong, the development of regional and global welfare concepts and social change are very fast.
